how was your lunar new year?

i hope everyone enjoyed yourselves. (:

ate a lot of abalone.. yum. and of course hotdogs. far too many of them. and i think i really had enough of steamboat this year. haha..

de very first reunion dinner was w de swiss girlies on de 10th. steamboat. followed by de sim family on de 16th. steamboat. it was quite cute cos some of us prepared angbaos for each other and i even received a $3.50 toto quick pick! haha.. we went to squeeze w de crowd in chinatown to get into de festive mood. my very first visit to chinatown at night during cny period! family reunion dinner at grandma's place. steamboat. and i had steamboat today. and mama may organise one at our place cos daddy wanna invite his friends. oh no!!! wad is so good abt steamboat?

anw my family has this usual routine every year w/o fail.

on de first day, we will have our brunch at grandma's place before going to an aunt-grandma's place to bai nian.. then we will settle down, gambling.. at my mother's side till night.
on de 2nd day, we will go to my dad's godmother's place to bai nian then come back to grandma's place for brunch before setting off to grandpa's place! this is de part i like because everyone travels together! squeeze into 4 to 5 cars and one whole stretch of our own ppl. so fun! then we will come back to grandma's place and de gambling den starts operating till de steamboat and after.
i didnt really gamble much this year though cos i took over my mama on de first day when she went to makan and i lost 70bucks (min. 10 bucks bet) so i stopped and didnt play at all though usually i'd play a lil on day2. nice mama paid for de 70bucks! :p

but this year was a lil different cos we went to baibai after going to grandpa's place. and de cousins and i went to bowl after steamboat dinner!!! 12 of us, 3 of them are my aunt-grandma's children so they aint exactly my cousins. it was fun. and today i learnt dat so many of them actually smokes. guys. BOO!!

even though some of them are cousins i see only once a year, i'm still definitely much closer to them than my mother's side..
there's always de usual 3 different age groups regardless in which side:
1) 26 and above, mostly married and w kids now.
2) ard 16-25. my grp.
3) small kids. my sister's grp.
sadly, de ones i'm closer with.. de ones in my father's side.. de ones dat fall in number 2.. are all guys. i guess dat pretty much explain why i'm lidat. lidat meaning so boyish and rough. HAHAHA! but of cos i still converse a lil w those in number 1 and play quite a bit w those in number 3.

oh and i'm glad i did some studying everyday before i leave de house and after i'm back! i'm pretty much satisfied w my disciplined performance. :p
